November 1, 2020

Today is the beginning of a new month, the month of November. We have only two months for this year 2020 to roll by. If anybody told us that year 2020 would be the way we experienced it, we would not believe it. The year had a number repeated itself, and because of this, people believed it  would be a double blessing.  We started the year with full of hopes and good expectations. Nobody knew what was lying ahead, at least not this magnitude. With all that had happened in the entire world, with astronomical number of people that had died because of this coronavirus , we cannot but say like Job, “The LORD gives and the LORD takes away, Glory be to His Holy Name.”  Job praised God in the midst of all his troubles. He lost everything, his material wealth and all his children on a single day. The news came to him one after another, “then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither; the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away, blessed be the name of the LORD. In all this, Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.” (Job 1:20-22)

The Bible says “Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”  (Philippians 4:6-7)  The Book of Acts recorded in chapter16 (v24-26) that after Paul and Silas were beaten mercilessly because they preached Jesus to them, and then imprisoned, we were told that Paul and Silas began to pray and praise God in between their chains, and suddenly, an earthquake erupted, and their chains were broken. God is an amazing and awesome God. He knows how to turn all these situations to blessings if we can just trust Him. He will heal all the wounds and restore joy to the families that have lost loved ones. We do not know why He allowed this virus to cause so much damage and it is still causing a lot of havoc all over the world. Along with all these, countries like Nigeria experienced massacre of youth that protested against the government, unrest in many nations led to untold deaths, and flood in some other countries caused a lot of damage.  Many of you might know more than I do of all that had happened this year. In all this, let us appreciate God for who He is and what He will eventually do because of His love for mankind.

Now that you and I still have our breath, let us praise God Almighty for allowing us to see the eleventh month in the year 2020. Lamentations 3:22-24 says “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,. Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”  He is a faithful God, and plenteous in mercy. He will overlook our sins and save us from this unprecedented pandemic situation of 2020. I believe there is brighter tomorrow in horizon, let us praise Him because He is the pillar that holds the whole world, your life and my life. Let us praise Him each day we are able to see  the dawn of the day because our sleep each day is like death, but He wakes us up again into the land of the living. Since the dead cannot praise God, so praise God today for sparing your life and praise Him everyday the LORD gives you breath, and continue to be hopeful that greater and beautiful things are on the way . He knows how to restore lost glory. Just keep your focus on Jesus, Remember He is coming soon. He will keep us to the end in Jesus Name, AMEN. HAPPY AND BLESSED NEW MONTH!!!
