Joshua 4:10-end The priests who bore the ark stood in the midst of the Jordan until all the people had completely crossed over, and then the ark of the LORD and the priests crossed over in the presence of the people. As soon as the priests’ feet touched the dry land, the waters of the Jordan returned to their place and overflowed all its banks as before. The people camped in Gilgal on the east border of Jericho Those 12 stones which they took out of Jordan Joshua set up in Gilgal. These stones are witnesses to the mighty hand of God. He dried the Red Sea and now Jordan for the children of Israel to walk on dry ground. If you remember in Exodus when the Red Sea was opened for them to cross over, the women led by Miriam the sister of Moses sang this beautiful song with timbrel in their hands and with dances, the song recorded in Chapter 15, (Song of Moses), “Sing to the LORD, For He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea!’ Another song in this chapter is “Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, Fearful in praises, doing wonders?”

While I praise God for the people that witnessed the first miracle (opening of Red Sea), and the second miracle (opening of Jordan river), among so many others that the God of the universe performed in their presence, I do not know what else our God could have done to let them FEAR Him. As Joshua said in this chapter, when your children ask you about these stones, tell them the miracle God did for your fathers in that He dried the Jordan river and made the people to cross over on dry ground as He did the Red Sea, so that all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty, that you may Fear the LORD your God forever.”  Of course I did not witness any of these miracles but reading them was enough for me to know that there is God in heaven who can do abundantly and exceedingly above anything that I ask from Him. There is nothing, absolutely nothing impossible for Him to do, because He created everything, and the whole world is under His control.

Therefore all these were written for our learning that we should TRUST this God with every of our being.  Children of Israel were used to display the GLORY of God to all mankind. Though seeing is believing, our Lord Jesus says “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed” John 20:29. I hope you too are among those that our Lord is talking about. Apostle John ended his writing in the Gospel by saying “And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book, but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His Name. John 20:30-31.  The Bible is full of TESTIMONIES of God of Israel that manifest Himself as the Almighty to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the children of Israel, and as I AM that I AM to Moses in burning bush, as the Son of God in the New Testament and as Another Advocate , Comforter, the Holy Spirit that has occupied all believers today working mightily through us. Philippians 2:13 says, “For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” This is why we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13).

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Thank you Jesus for revealing yourself again to John in the Book of Revelation where what will happen at the end of age was revealed. If there is any thing else to study NOW it is none other than the Book of Revelation, because we are in the end time and we need to prepare ourselves so that we don’t fall short AGAIN. The last two verses of the Book of Revelation says “He who testifies to these things says , “Surely I am coming quickly.”  Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen!” (Rev 20:20-21).  God bless you all.
