Numbers 36 1-end – In one of the earlier chapters, we were told of how the daughters of Zelophehad came to Moses to ask for the inheritance of their father and the LORD told Moses to give them their portion. Now this situation was brought up in this chapter by the other family members who were afraid that if they marry to other tribe, that tribe could claim ownership of the land that were allotted to them. This will eventually eat into what originally belongs to them. Moses told them that the LORD had commanded that these daughters should marry within their tribe to prevent this problem from happening. So this became a general principle among them for the women to stay married within their tribe and each tribe to keep their inheritance within their tribe.
This chapter marks the end of the book of Numbers. The last verse says “these are the commandments and the judgments, which the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses unto the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho”. God led these people step by step from the time they left Egypt all through the wilderness to the point where they were about to cross the Jordan river to the other side. God dealt with every situation that might and could arise as they interact with themselves, with strangers among them or with those in authority over them. You have gone through all these sections and you will agree with me that our God is a relational God. That was what we saw in Genesis how He would walk with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day in the garden of Eden. He still desires to have that relationship with you and me even today. Psalm 1 says ” Blessed are those—who delight in the Law of the LORD, and in His Law they meditate day and night.” I believe the more we dwell on the Word of God, the more our fellowship with Him will deepen, and the more we will be able to do His will just as Moses did. It is my desire that the world we live in today will surrender to the Lordship of our Lord Jesus Christ who is the Prince of Peace., and the LORD of lords. Let us commit the time at our disposal to studying more of His Word and the benefits of the Word of God will manifest in our lives in Jesus Name, Amen. Remain blessed!!!.
