Numbers 23:27-29–“27 Then Balak said to Balaam, “Please come, I will take you to another place; perhaps it will please God that you may curse them for me from there.” 28 So Balak took Balaam to the top of Peor, that overlooks the [a]wasteland. 29 Then Balaam said to Balak, “Build for me here seven altars, and prepare for me here seven bulls and seven rams.”
This is the third time Balak would bring Balaam into another place and thought that God would change his mind and allow him to curse the children of Israel. You know my contribution here is that God shows his long-suffering attributes by just watching Balak to continue to pursue this demand of his. He could have killed him if he wanted to just like he dealt with Balaam on the way. He knew that the demand of the king would not be met no matter what but He still allows him to continue in his folly. This is how I know that at times God watches us to keep on trying in our own strength to do certain things after He had warned us to desist from such things. On the long run we will see that we can never win. Proverbs 14:12 says “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.” This is always the result of those who don’t want to follow God’s way. Our way might seem right to us just like Balak thought God would go along with him if he tried the third time, but who can change what God alone has power over?
I have learned in this chapter that the will of God concerning me, you or anyone does not change, because He created us for a purpose. His plan towards us are good and not evil and it is to bring us to an expected end.(Jeremiah 29:11). There is nothing that we could ever do that He did not already know about. With all the disobedience and the rebellious attitude of the children of Israel, He still kept them safe from all the attacks of the enemies though He punished them in different ways when they sinned against Him. So also He knew that we would go through this pandemic situation this year (2020), but surely He will continue to keep us safe and protected until it is over in Jesus Name, Amen..
