Numbers 23:13-19-We could see that the continuation of this chapter deals with other efforts made by Balak to make Balaam curse the children of Israel. This simply informs us that if we defeat Satan one time, we should never think that he would give up. He would try again and again. Therefore we need to understand that we cannot afford to relax and think that it is over after defeating him once. If he did not succeed in one area, he will try another area, that is how he wearies the saints. He does not give up easily. he attacks marriages, families, children, businesses, health, and many other areas of one’s life. This is why the Bible says in 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” You can resist him by not crossing the boundary to his side. He is God’s enemy because he sinned against God from the beginning, and anyone who lives a life of sin is on his side. But we want to be on the side of God for God to protect us against him.
To affirm that God would not change His mind, God told Balaam to return to Balak and put a word in his mouth , He got to Balak and said (in parable), Rise up, Balak, and hear; hearken unto me, thou son of Zippor: God is not a man, that he should lie, neither the son of man, that he should repent, hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? (v 19). This is the word of God to Balak and to us that God would not lie or go back on what He has spoken concerning the children of Israel and us too. He is God by Himself, the Creator of all we can see and cannot see. Whatever you are depending on Him for, He would do it. You can bank on it. Do not delay your blessing or breakthrough by doubting. If Balaam could not do what Balak wanted him to do, that shows the One who is in charge, who says it and it comes to pass. Therefore these stories are written here for us to know the God of the universe. The God that came to reconcile us to Himself and make us His own. We need to know Him by developing an intimate relationship with Him. When we read the Word (Bible) daily and meditate on what we read, we will grow thereby. God bless you all,
