He who is the high priest among his brethren, on whose head the anointing oil was poured and who is consecrated to wear the garments, shall not uncover his head nor tear his clothes;  nor shall he go near any dead body, nor defile himself for his father or his mother;  nor shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the Lord.  And he shall take a wife in her virginity.  A widow or a divorced woman or a defiled woman or a harlot—these he shall not marry; but he shall take a virgin of his own people as wife.  Nor shall he profane his posterity among his people, for I the Lord sanctify him.’ ”  And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,  “Speak to Aaron, saying: ‘No man of your descendants in succeeding generations, who has any defect, may approach to offer the bread of his God.  For any man who has a defect shall not approach: a man blind or lame, who has a marred face or any limb too long,  a man who has a broken foot or broken hand, or is a hunchback or a dwarf, or a man who has a defect in his eye, or eczema or scab, or is a eunuch.  No man of the descendants of Aaron the priest, who has a defect, shall come near to offer the offerings made by fire to the Lord. He has a defect; he shall not come near to offer the bread of his God.  He may eat the bread of his God, both the most holy and the holy;  only he shall not go near the veil or approach the altar, because he has a defect, lest he profanes My sanctuaries; for I the Lord sanctify them.’ ”  And Moses told it to Aaron and his sons, and to all the children of Israel. (Leviticus 21:10-24).

The remaining verses in chapter 21 continue with the various things that can defile the priest, that is, Aaron and his descendants. This shall be a statute that will be for generations to generations. As we shall see later on, the children of Eli, who are the descendants of Aaron defiled themselves and the Sanctuary and this forfeited their lineage from ministering before the Lord forever. Apart from the lists written above, there are so many other things that defile a man of God. This goes to show that no man of God who has been anointed with holy oil should take his work lightly. In the society of today, men of God forget that God fills Heaven and fills the Earth, and there is nothing hidden from Him. The judgment starts from the house of God because these ones have been chosen to have the knowledge of God. Daniel 11:32 says, “those who know their God shall be strong and do exploits.” That is, no matter the trials, or the need of any child of God, we should know that God loves us so much that He will always meet us at the point of our needs. We do not have to use ungodly ways to meet our needs. Proverbs 3:5-8 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart,  And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes;  Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.” Therefore we must remember who we are and that our God will hold us accountable for everything we do. We must daily run away from sin, and trust God for everything we need, even though they are not coming at our expected rate.  At times He allows some things to happen just to test where our heart is. Therefore know your God and lean on Him completely.

We are in the last days if the word of God is not convicting us, I do not know what would.  We that have been chosen should live soberly and prayerfully, waiting eagerly for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We do not have time to waste. Every day should be an opportunity to serve God and witness to other people who are yet to know Him. I pray that God in His infinite mercies will make us a useful vessel to reach the lost and also uphold us to the end in Jesus Name, Amen. Be blessed!!!
