It came to pass on the eighth day that Moses called Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel.  And he said to Aaron, “Take for yourself a young bull as a sin offering and a ram as a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the Lord.  And to the children of Israel you shall speak, saying, ‘Take a kid of the goats as a sin offering, and a calf and a lamb, both of the first year, without blemish, as a burnt offering, also a bull and a ram as peace offerings, to sacrifice before the Lord, and a grain offering mixed with oil; for today the Lord will appear to you.’ ” So they brought what Moses commanded before the tabernacle of meeting. And all the congregation drew near and stood before the Lord. Then Moses said, “This is the thing which the Lord commanded you to do, and the glory of the Lord will appear to you.”  And Moses said to Aaron, “Go to the altar, offer your sin offering and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself and for the people. Offer the offering of the people, and make atonement for them, as the Lord commanded.”  Aaron therefore went to the altar and killed the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself.  Then the sons of Aaron brought the blood to him. And he dipped his finger in the blood, put it on the horns of the altar, and poured the blood at the base of the altar.  But the fat, the kidneys, and the fatty lobe from the liver of the sin offering he burned on the altar, as the Lord had commanded Moses. The flesh and the hide he burned with fire outside the camp.  And he killed the burnt offering; and Aaron’s sons presented to him the blood, which he sprinkled all around on the altar. Then they presented the burnt offering to him, with its pieces and head, and he burned them on the altar. And he washed the entrails and the legs, and burned them with the burnt offering on the altar.(Leviticus 9:1-14).

Yesterday we read about the consecration of Aaron and his sons into the priestly ministry.by Moses. Today we are reading the beginning of the ministry of Aaron and his sons. The work started immediately, because the scripture says on the 8th day, Moses called Aaron and his sons to start. Now remember that Aaron and his sons were at the door of the tabernacle for 7 days, now to start offering the sacrifices for the people, Aaron was asked to offer a bull again as a sin offering and a ram as a burnt offering which they did for 7 days already. Aaron and his sons had to go through the atonement again to make themselves worthy to offer the sacrifices of the people to God. What does that tell us or what explanation can we give for this repeated offerings? To me it simply means none of these sacrifices is actually taking away any sin from the people. God allowed this temporarily until the perfect sacrifice is revealed. The song that was written long ago says “What can wash away my sins?, Nothing but the blood of Jesus.” explains it all. The blood of bull cannot do the cleansing, it cannot do any transformation, no change was apparent in the lives of many of them throughout these period. Though they saw many miracles, and signs and wonders, they brought sacrificial offerings, to God, yet their heart were not transformed. Only a few of them had a life-changing experiences. Today we can see what the blood of Jesus had done in the lives of many people. By believing in the name of Jesus, murderer had turned to saint (the thief on the cross), many people were healed of different kinds of diseases, and many people prefer to die as martyr for the course of Christ. This justifies the claim that Jesus is God in human form. There is no perfect sacrifice that can make us as white as snow except the blood of Jesus.

Brothers and sisters, God has been tolerating human beings from the time immemorial (Garden of Eden), because of His love for humanity. He allowed the blood of bull or goat to temporarily allow Him to continue to have mercy on us. Now in these last days, after sending His only begotten Son to us to make an atonement for our sins, what excuse do we have now to reject this perfect sacrifice? How do we solve the problem when we have denied the only way to bring us closer to Him? There is no other way my brother and sister to cleanse ourselves from all the debris of sin, because we are all sinners, no one is righteous, no not one. If you are still playing religion, and thinking that there are many ways to God, you are deceiving yourself. There is no other name under heaven given us except the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Mohammed did not die for anybody, neither any other intermediary that people call upon. I will advice you to read the history of other religion and compare it to the Bible, from there you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. 2 Chronicle 20:20 says “Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” May the Lord give us more understanding of His Word in Jesus name, Amen.
