Moses took his tent and pitched it outside the camp, far from the camp, and called it the tabernacle of meeting. And it came to pass that everyone who sought the Lord went out to the tabernacle of meeting which was outside the camp.  So it was, whenever Moses went out to the tabernacle, that all the people rose, and each man stood at his tent door and watched Moses until he had gone into the tabernacle.  And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses.  All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the tabernacle door, and all the people rose and worshiped, each man in his tent door.  So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.(Exodus 33:7-11).

Now Moses designated a place far outside the camp as a tabernacle of meeting. Ho went there to meet the Lord, and Joshua too. So also everyone who sought the Lord went to the tabernacle. This is good to know now that the children of Israel had finally waken up to the realization that there is God who cannot be seen but can be heard. Moses led the way and they followed. They could also see the pillar of cloud descending whenever Moses went to the tabernacle. They also rose to their feet and worshiped God. This is what God desired from all of us. When we have that understanding that God desired to have a relationship with us, it will be easy for us to seek Him. The bible says God spoke to Moses face to face. Though He might not be speaking face to face to anyone now, but He is still speaking to us. He speaks to us these days through the Holy Spirit that He gave to us when we surrender ourselves to Him. If we can be still to listen, we will enjoy His fellowship. I have been wanting to get to the point of hearing Him audibly, but where I am now is better than before because I have the awareness that He is speaking to me and through me . I have decided from my reading the scriptures that I need to press further into the reading of His Word. I believe because He is the Word, the more I bury myself in the Word of God, the more I will hear Him.

The last verse in the scripture above says, “but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle”. Joshua was the servant of Moses, and he had grown to love the Lord, always following his master, and even after Moses departed from the tabernacle, he stayed there still. Also when Moses went to the mountain for 40 days and 40 nights, Joshua was waiting at the foot of the mountain, until he came down. God had filled him up wit Himself just like He did to Moses. Nothing else matters to him other than things of God. He walked closely behind Moses and was also deriving close fellowship with God. God desires that we know Him personally, and develop direct relationship with Him. It is this close association with God that helped Joshua when Moses died and leadership mantle fell on him. He prepared himself for this position because he sought the Lord himself and found Him. In this day and age, there are still some people who are seeking the Lord with all their heart, mind and soul. They do not entangle themselves with things of the world, they are not seeking wealth or fame but only the knowledge of God. Unfortunately, there are many more that have been called lo lead the people of God, but their desire have been shifted to materialism, and all they acquire now are what the worldly people are running after. So my prayer today is for God to raise more Joshua-like leaders all over the world, that will follow the steps of Moses, and lead us to our promised land.

It is disheartening to learn yesterday that 28 people died recently when “a man of God” made an altar call for those who want to be set free of every demonic attack to come forward. The man gave them “bleach” to drink that would purge and cleanse them from this demonic problem. This happened in one part of Africa (I forgot the name). The news told us that out of the 28 dead people two of them were nurses and 10 teachers. What a terrible tragedy to trust a leader that drinking bleach will eliminate their problem?  The Bible says, “My people perish for lack of knowledge” Every one is given the opportunity to seek God, and you can do this by reading the Bible and meditating on the Word of God. Do not take the word of Pastor for it, go into the Bible and read for yourself. Many leaders of today are possessed, they are agents of Satan, they are doing weird things that are not from God.  May the Lord deliver us from all forms of evil in Jesus Name, Amen.  I pray that the Lord will make us the Joshua of our generation in Jesus Name, Amen. God bless.
