MOSES PLEADED WITH GOD

Then Moses pleaded with the Lord his God, and said: “Lord, why does Your wrath burn hot against Your people whom You have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?  Why should the Egyptians speak, and say, ‘He brought them out to harm them, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth’? Turn from Your fierce wrath, and relent from this harm to Your people.  Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants, to whom You swore by Your own self, and said to them, ‘I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven; and all this land that I have spoken of I give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.’ ”  So the Lord relented from the harm which He said He would do to His people. (Exodus 32:11-14)

God was angry with His people for quickly turning away from Him. He then proposed to make Moses a great nation after consuming them by His fire. The scripture above tells us that Moses started to intercede on behalf of this nation. In the book of Ezekiel God mentioned that He was looking for a man that will stand in the gap. Let us read what He says “So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one” (Ezekiel 22:30). This verse made me to understand that God desires that people stand in the gap to plead with Him so that He would not destroy the people. Though He made up His mind to destroy the children of Israel for the golden calf they made,  but because Moses interceded, God changed His mind. God is God of Mercy and His Mercy endures forever, the Lamp of Mercy was turned on because Moses pleaded with Him.  This is why we must take prayers seriously. The Bible says “the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous avails much”  Do not be discouraged when things are not going as planned, God simply needs you to talk to Him through your prayers, and God will turn the situation around to your favor.

So much attention was paid to our Lord Jesus’s prayer life while He walked on the earth.  I believe God wanted us to learn this act of communication with God that can bring solution to all problems. As a matter of fact, He wants us to be payer warriors, so He is always seeking those people that are constantly asking from the Lord for His mercy so that He would not destroy us for our sins. To let us know that It is His desire to answer prayers, He said :in Matthew 7:7, Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened to you” Please sharpen your prayer life and pray for God’s intervention in our city, state and nation.and watch how God would turn our mess to message. There is a song that says, There is something that makes me come into your presence, My Helper, My Helper Oh, My Helper (2ice), There is something that makes me come into your presence,.My Helper.”  God is our Helper, a very present Help in trouble. Psalm 121 says “I will look unto the Hills, where will my help come from, My help comes from the Lord who made Heaven and earth, Therefore let us keep ourselves busy by our prayers as we have doors already open for us  and the Lord will answer us as we pray in Jesus name, Amen. Remain in Him!!!
