“Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.  Beware of Him and obey His voice; do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My name is in Him.  But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.  For My Angel will go before you and bring you in to the Amorites and the Hittites and the Perizzites and the Canaanites and the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will cut them off.  You shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their works; but you shall utterly overthrow them and completely break down their sacred pillars. “So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.  No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.(Exodus 23:20-26).

The continuation of the instruction to the children of Israel on Mount Sinai confirms His continuous  presence as they journeyed through to their promised land. The  angel of the Lord will be their guide with pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night.  These promises to the children of Israel are also our promises. I was introduced to this scripture by one of our pastors when I was seriously sick few years ago.  I used this scripture to  pray for many days and  I received my healing. Since then, it has become my favorite scripture to claim. Apart from healing the other benefits of serving God is the blessing of the fruit of the womb.  I also used this scripture to pray for those that are waiting on the Lord for children and those who have challenges in keeping pregnancies. God is faithful. He honors His word more than His name. Words of God are quick and powerful and performs miracles. The warnings of not bowing down to Idols are very important to us today because many of us do not understand how easily we take our focus from God. When we don’t make God our priority or when we depend on people for help, we are making those other things as our idol. The bible says “Seek ye first the kingdom of God  and His righteousness, and all other things shall be added to us. (Matthew 6:33).  The children of Israel are required to bow down only to God of Israel and not to any of the gods of the Hittites, Amorites, Jebusites and other nations because they are all abomination to Him and this was the reason why He wanted them removed from the land.  Psalm 91 has some of these promises and even more in it. For example those that dwell in the secret place of the Almighty God shall abide under His coverage (protection) and the Almighty God will send angels to protect them in all their ways by encamping around them, so also the Lord would satisfy them with long life and good health.

Therefore brothers and sisters, the words of God are still as fresh as when first spoken. They are promises that God stand by and can never change. Hence He says heaven and earth may pass away but none of his words will ever go unfulfilled. Hold on to the word of God, and do not doubt it, it says what it means and means what it says.  May the Lord continue to enlighten us in His word and anoint us with understanding of His word, so that we can enjoy Him to the fullest in Jesus Name, Amen Remain blessed!!!
