JACOB’S FAMILY FINALLY SETTLED IN GOSHEN

Genesis 47 now deals with Jacob meeting Pharaoh and then settling in the best of  place that Egypt had to offer. Every brother was settled with his family and Joseph provided for them according to their needs. The brothers that sold Joseph would be so uncomfortable enjoying all of these blessings from Joseph because of what they did to him. If only we can learn from the stories of these chosen people of God, we would not even want to do anybody any harm because nobody knows what lies ahead of anyone or what God has in store for every individual. All the heartache of Jacob for many years without Joseph had come to an end. All the sufferings of Joseph in Egypt had come to an end. The people that devil used to push Joseph to this position were put to shame. His brothers were put to shame because what they did not want to happen came to pass in their presence. The Potiphar’s wife that lied against Joseph and caused his imprisonment should also learn a great lesson if she was able to witness this promotion. Even Potiphar too who was his master would be able to learn from this episode. From all that took place from the time Joseph entered the scene to this point of their settling in Egypt should make everyone of us to reverence and fear the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who is the God of the Universe. We could see that whatever He promised would surely come to pass. Nobody could stop him, or hinder Him.

Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent,.Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?  Behold, I have received a command to bless;
He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it” Do we recognize that God is not like us? We have never seen God face to face because it is physically impossible for the ONE that created the universe that is as vast as this to be seen by our naked eyes. We are all like tiny dots on the surface of the earth. We can imagine the scene that we see when we have a chance to look through the window of the airplane to see cities, buildings that look gigantic to us when we are on the land, would now become like toys. Is it not amazing that God still loves us enough to bring Himself down to dwell among us? Yet we do not exercise fear in our dealings with this our God and with ourselves. Jesus demonstrated to us that He came so as to make God known to us. If the ancient people had problem knowing God, the chosen people should not have any doubt about this God, because in many ways He appeared to them, spoke to them, send angels to them. Abraham left a legacy for those coming after him to know that there is God. The physical blessings he had could not be compared to other people around him because it was God that blessed him, and he made it known to them. Isaac also received the same blessing, and Jacob too had many encounters with God of his fathers.

We of this generation, that have been blessed by the Word of God, are supposed to read the Word of God, and look through the mirror of the Word to see God in His splendor, in His greatness, and stand in AWE of Him all the days of our lives. We should not even dare to make Him angry by sinning against Him. Imagine all the evil the world commits everyday, nations rising against nations, families against families, and brothers against brothers. All that we do is totally against his commandments. He wants us to dwell together in love just as He loved us. Many lives have ended abruptly because of hatred among people. That is why the judgment of God that is coming upon the world can not even be imagined. Brothers and sisters, we need to do everything in our power to dwell in love, because hatred or bitterness against ourselves will send people to Hell. Hell is REAL, so also Heaven the abode of our God is REAL. The LORD’S PRAYER says, “Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Your Name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from all evil. For Yours is the kingdom, the Power and the Glory, Forever and ever, Amen.”

I pray the LORD will continue to remind us of Who He is, His Love, His Power, His Glory and His kingdom, and in so doing we can develop a long lasting relationship with Him that will make us to TRUST and OBEY Him all the days of our lives in Jesus Name, Amen. May His kingdom come into our lives and our homes today and for ever, Amen.
