We saw in Genesis 6 how God decided to destroy everything He had made because of the wickedness of man but Noah found grace in his eyes. Therefore God considered starting again with this man, his wife, his three sons and their wives. Genesis 6:12-16 says “And God looked upon the earth, and behold, it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.  And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me, for the earth is filled with violence through them, and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.. Make thee an ark of gopher wood, rooms shalt  thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the Ark shall be 300 cubits, the breadth of it 50 cubits, and the height of it 30 cubits. A window shalt thou make to the Ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above, and the door of the Ark shalt thou set in the side thereof, with lower , second, and third stories  shalt thou make it.”

The Ark of God was very specific. The God of the universe wanted the Ark constructed with specific details, the length, the breadth, the height, the rooms, the windows and the doors, and the levels (3). Can you fathom the understanding of this our God that created you and me.He is called “the Alpha and Omega”, the One that knows the end from the beginning. He is the One that knows all that He had created, and He wanted this Ark to contain 7 pairs (male and female) of each creature ..clean beast and unclean beast,  and different fowls of the air,  and also Noah and his family. He knows how many days He would flood the earth to destroy everything left, and how many days it would take, to see dry land again. The Bible tells us that “Noah did according to all that the LORD commanded him.” When Noah finished constructing the Ark, the Lord sent each living beast in pairs (7 pairs each) to the Ark to keep them alive. He also directed him to take with him all types of food for the creatures and for Noah and his family. At the end of the flood the Bible says it took 10 months to keep those animals and the human beings together, 5 months for the flooding and five months for the water to recede and dry land to appear.  Every thing on earth perished except those in the Ark. O man, what is thy boast? Man is ordinary dust and it is only the breath of God that is sustaining us. The Ark of God is the plan of God to save humanity. All those who did not walk with God, or those who took laws into their hands and behaved wickedly all perished by the judgment of the flood that He sent. Nobody could save himself when the rain started. I can imagine they would be running from one place to the other until they could not run again. The flood covered every mountain but only those in the Ark were saved. As the level of the flood rose, so the Ark was lifted up, so constantly they were above the waters.

A great lesson to learn from the details of the Ark that God instructed Noah to make is the fact that God that created us knows us inside out. He knows who we are, what our composition is, what we are capable of doing, our beginning and our ending. Psalm 139:1-6 says “O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up, You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me. It is high, I cannot attain it.”  The details of our lives are in God’s hand. This is why we have to surrender to the Creator for guidance. He knows the purpose for creating us and how we will achieve that purpose.  The life of many people today can testify to the power of God working behind the scene to lead them from one point to the other to achieve a specific purpose. Because Noah understood this , he allowed himself to be used  for the purpose for which he was created for by obeying God’s commands.

We too need to submit ourselves completely into His leadership, because He has plan for us. We should remember that whatever position we are, God puts us there. So we should use our God-given position for His glory.”  If we focus on God, we would not be easily distracted.  Noah focused on God and made every effort to live right, and God honored his stance for Him. God is waiting for you and for me to stand out like Noah did and build an Ark for Him. This year 2019 should be different from last year when we could not make up our minds to serve God as we are supposed to. The Lord is giving us another opportunity to move closer this year.  Let us live to bring more souls into the kingdom of God, by making ourselves a living example to other people. Jesus is Lord, and He is coming soon. May He find us ready and prepared to enter into His glory in Jesus Name, Amen. Remain blessed.
