WHAT HAVE YOU GIVEN UP FOR GOD?
When Abraham was commanded to go to Mount Moriah and sacrifice his only son to God, Abraham did not look back he obeyed God and without question, went to the mount and was about to place his hand when the angel provided him with a substitute a ram caught in the thicket. Abraham believed God and it was counted unto him for righteousness. What are you holding unto that you cannot lay down for God? What are those habits that do not glorify God that you are still struggling with? You need to repent of them and turn away from them. It is difficult to get rid of bad habit, but but when you think of what Christ did for you, then it will be easy for you to give it up. Jesus came for the purpose of saving us from these terrible habits that could land us in hell. He gave up his life for us and suffered shame. Nothing should be difficult for us to give up for Him, The life we live after we’ve accepted him as our Lord and Savior should be lived for him. As He sacrificed His life for us we must live a sacrificed life for Him too. He wants us to live a blameless and spotless life, the one that glorifies His name. I pray that 2019 will bring us closer and closer unto the image of Christ which was the original intention of God.
I now use this medium to thank our God for loving us so much and for sending His Son to us to die for us so as to reconcile us to Himself. Let us celebrate Him as He is our PEACE, the Prince of PEACE, He wants us to be distinguished from other people by our selfless living. Let us remember what He did for us now that we are celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and decide to make our lives be pleasing unto Him. We need to drop all those excess baggage that could prevent us from being with Him at the end. This season is the period of accessing our spiritual lives and giving ourselves a grade. If the grade is not good enough, let us think of improving on our reading habits. It is the reading of the word of God that can help us stay focused on Him. The word will also empower us to give up those habits that are weighing us down. Are you a wife, be prepared to improve your relationship with your husband by respecting him and taking care of him. Your unconditional submission to your husband will give you a good grade in the book of God. Are you a husband, be prepared to render unconditional love to your wife, treat her with a tender care and be there for her at all times. If you set your mind to do these, you will be earning a wonderful grade with the Lord. Both husband and wife should endeavor to build a loving home where the peace of God dwells. This should be our goal in 2019 and the Lord will help us to build such homes in Jesus Name, Amen. Merry Christmas and happy New year.
