WALK IN THE LIGHT
Jesus came to the earth to set the captives free. One of the Masters from which Christ came to set us free is SIN. Whosoever sins is a slave of SIN. The acronym of SIN is Satan’s Identity Number. So we have been indirectly delivered from the grip of Satan once we accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into our lives. Now Jesus makes His abode in us and we become the servant of Jesus Christ., We are now in Him and He is in us. In order to now overcome sin and all that are attached to it, we have to allow Jesus in us to guide us in his light. He is the Light of the world, and we that have accepted Him must walk in that Light. Walking in the Light means walking in the commandment of God. All that He commands us to do we are supposed to obey them so that we can continue to reflect the light of God to other people. The most important one is to love our brothers and our sisters as Christ has loved us. I John 2:10-11 says, “He that loves his brother abides in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hates his brother is in darkness, and walks in darkness, and knows not where he goes because darkness has blinded his eyes.”
Secondly walking in the light means remembering to do good to your brother. I John 3:17 says, “But whoever has this world’s good, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?” This is confirming the heart of Christ towards us, the needy, the poor, the widow, the homeless. When God blesses you, He wants you to bless others. When he pronounced blessings on Abraham, He made it known that through him, the whole earth will be blessed. This is why He wants us to remember those who are poor among us whenever we have the opportunity. When you remember them the bible says, you are walking in the Light of your Father, and the Lord will reward you for it.
Thirdly walking in the Light means “to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and for every yoke to be broken” That is we need to stand in the gap in prayers for these category of people to experience deliverance from all that they have been saddled with. This is what our Lord Jesus Christ came to do as recorded in Luke 4:18, and if we are now His children and he abides in us and we in Him, all these should be our deepest concern. When we lift up these people to God, He knows when to send help from above and deliver them.
As we are finishing 2018 and moving on to 2019, the Lord wants us to think on these things, and if we have fallen short on any of them in particular the first one let us make amends and show love to our brothers unconditionally. We still have a chance now that we have our breath, to ask for the Grace to do the second and the third also. The Bible says we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us. Let us walk in the Light and let our Light shines to other people so that they will praise our Father that is in Heaven. The Bible says the path of the just is as shinning light and the light shines brighter and brighter unto the perfect day. We are children of the light, therefore let us walk in the light so that our light can continue to shine reflecting the glory of God in the land of the living. We have five days to Christmas, the blessings of Christmas will be ours in Jesus Name, Amen. God be with us all !!!.
