MERCY RULES OVER JUDGMENT

In many psalms written by king David, his cries are for mercy of God to be showered on him. When he was young and the only one in the field shepherding the flock of his father, he was always asking for mercy of God. When he confronted the bear and the lion, it was the mercy of God that saved him and the sheep from being killed. When he faced Goliath on the battle field it was the mercy of God that delivered Goliath into his hand. When king Saul started to pursue him from one cave to the other it was the mercy of God that protected him all through to the end until God ended king Saul’s life. The mercy of God gave him victory over all the battle that he fought with all Israel’s enemies. In 2 Samuel 22, the Scripture reads “And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul. And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer. The God of my rock, in him will I trust, he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my savior, thou savest me from violence. I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, so shall I be saved from my enemies. …..He is the tower of salvation for his king, and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.”

We too can say with David that it is the mercy of God that has saved us from all the perils of 2018. It is the mercy of God that have prevailed that our enemies have not overpowered us. All the journey we embarked upon this year, the LORD granted us mercy to and fro according to his promise. The mercy of God had kept our jobs intact so that we were not laid off and we were able to meet our obligations. The mercy of God is from everlasting to everlasting and we are grateful for counting us worthy to receive his mercy which rules over judgment.  We pray that this mercy of God will shield us from every evil the devil might have programmed into the remaining days of year 2018. We pray that the mercy of God will see us through to the end of 2018.  We pray that the mercy of God will deliver all our remaining blessings to us before the year runs out.  We also pray that the mercy of God will continue with us into year 2019 and lead us until we are rooted and grounded in the word of God. The mercy of God will prevail over us in everything we do, fight our battle and give us victory in the year 2019 and beyond in the mighty name of Jesus. God’s mercy will continue to be our portion all the days of our lives in Jesus name, Amen. God bless you all.
