December 14, 2018

The month of December is a month that is full of joyous moments, with beautiful songs from radio, tv, and so many other avenues, and  atmosphere is always serene and peaceful coupled with all the hassle of what to buy and still able to make a reasonable decision to catch sales and cover as many people as possible.  Christmas gifts are the center of our focus as it has become the yearly tradition and we have eleven days to Christmas. As we count down to the Christmas day, let us look into the mirror of the word of God to see why our Lord Jesus came to the earth at the time he did. Christmas is the day we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus and his coming to the earth has a profound significance on the human race. He came primarily to save us from our sins and reconcile us to the Father. Isaiah.  61:1-5 has this to say concerning Him, “The Spirit  of the Lord God is upon me because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings  unto the meek, he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted , to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound . To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD and the day of vengeance of our God., to comfort all that mourn. To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Though we are going through the motion of the season, so many families are broken as we speak, so many people are in bondage to sickness, or affliction, many people are still in bondage to sin, alcohol, sexual immorality, anger , bitterness, and so on.  Some are in their own prison not sharing their problem with no one. Therefore the festive moods that look serene and peaceful are only on the surface. So many people that are going through all that I have mentioned will still find time to go for shopping so as to pick few things for some people. We need to remind ourselves the reason for his coming and call upon him to manifest himself in whatever area that you need his touch. Are you brokenhearted, call unto him and ask him to do a thorough binding of your soul and spirit together and make you alive in him. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved. The blind Batholomew cried unto Him to open his eyes so that he might see, and the LORD answered him immediately.  Let us bring all our problems to him as we celebrate the birth of Jesus this season and even the gift we are giving to people should be counted as a seed to receiving our oil of joy for our morning, and also for receiving a garment of praise for our spirit of heaviness. The LORD sees you and is waiting for your call in prayers concerning yourself and your loved ones in whatever situation they are in. He will turn your live around for good as he has done for so many people and he still doing it. Remember the reason for this season, the reason is to make you become trees of righteousness so that your God can be glorified in your life. Before long you shall testify to the goodness of God in the land of the living. in Jesus name. God’s abundant blessings will continue to rest upon you all. Amen.
