COINCIDENCE OR GOD’S LEADING?

Many of us have gone through many experiences in life which some will simply call luck (coincidence) but a second look at many of them I will call God’s leading. God is the one in total control of all situations whether good or bad and my prayer is that good things shall continue to be our portion in Jesus Name. Let us look at one episode in the Bible and judge for ourselves whether it is coincidence or God-directed. Genesis 24:2-24..”And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh. And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell. But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac. And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land, must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest? And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again. The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father’s house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me saying “Unto thy seed will I give this land, he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence. And if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath; only bring not my son thither again. And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him concerning that matter”

The servant departed with his company and set for Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor. And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening   , even the time that women go out to draw water. And he said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham. Behold I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water. And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink, and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also; let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac, and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master. And it came to pass before he had done speaking, that behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham’s brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder. And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her, and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up. And the servant ran to meet her, and said, Let me, I pray thee, drink a little water of thy pitcher. And she said, Drink, my lord, and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink. And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking. ……And the man wondering at her held his peace, to wit whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not.”

Brothers and sisters, this episode was not coincidence, it was a prayer that was answered at the nick of time. Isaiah 65:24 says “And it shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer, and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” Surely the God of heaven had prepared the way of this servant and made his way prosperous without any hassle. He prayed a simple prayer and the LORD answered immediately. This servant was a loyal servant that served his master faithfully and had genuine love for his master and his son Isaac.. When you are loyal and faithful, whatever you asked God for will be granted to you. We are embarking on a journey that we have never gone through before, why don’t we call upon this God from now to lead us through the journey of 2019?  We cannot afford to make the same mistakes we made in 2018, going through many paths without the Shepherd leading us. We need to cry out to the God of heaven to lead us all the way from now as we are about to transition to 2019 until we enter into it by the Grace of God, and walk through it from day to day and month to month. Our God is the God of the universe, He is the Beginning and the End, He knows what is in store for that year. He knows every secret thing that devil had planned for 2019, He knows what path you need to go through to avoid delays and avoid bumps or pot holes. His ways are perfect and have happy ending, but what He desires from us, are our faithfulness to His word. He told Joshua, if you do not allow my word to depart from your mouth, and you meditate therein day and night, then you will have the ability to do all that is in the book of the law, and that will make you to prosper and have good success.(Joshua 1:8)

Year 2019 will be a prosperous year for us in Jesus name. Let us deep ourselves in prayers whether in season or out of season, creating more time to seek the Lord”s face concerning whatever we would want to do in this new year, and as the LORD led the servant of Abraham to providing a wife for Isaac, He will lead us throughout the year 2019, we will not fall victim of any evil, we will not be involved in any accident, we will not take the wrong step and we will be blessed mightily in Jesus Name, Amen.
