None of the miracles that are recorded in the Bible can be explained and this is why we know that God’s ways are unsearchable but He performs all these wonders so that we will know that He is God and there is none like Him. The various miracles that were recorded while the children of Israel were passing through the wilderness to their promised land were done so that they will believe in the only true God who wanted to use them as witnesses that the world might know that there is God in Israel and He is the God that created everything we can see or cannot see. In 2 Kings 5:1-10, was the story of a Syrian captain (named Naaman) who was a leper, and through their servant who happened to be a Jew, he was recommended to visit Israel that a prophet of God there would be able to help him. When he got to the prophet of God, whose name was Elisha, the man of God did not come out to see him but sent a messenger to him. Verse 9-11 reads  “Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot,  and stood at the door of the house of Elisha. And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper. Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage. And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean? Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God, and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean”

What lessons can we learn from this story? The maid who was a Jew knew what the God of Israel can do. She must have witnessed a lot of deliverance or healing through prophet of God in Israel, and she allowed herself to be used by letting the wife know that  the situation of her husband could be solved by God of Israel. Miracles are always pointing to the Great God of the universe who can do what no man can do. Secondly the Syrian captain with the disease displayed an attitude of pride when he came at the door of the man of God, thinking that he would come out to see him and probably pray over him for the leprosy to go. God’s ways are different from man’s ways, and he would have missed this great deliverance if not for the intervention of his servants. He was angry that the man of God asked him to go and wash in Jordan when in Damascus, according to him, the rivers there, are better than all the waters in Israel? Was this his own notion, and what makes one river better than the other? If he had not obeyed the instruction of the man of God, his breakthrough would have eluded him. Great deliverance comes from God alone and He is the only One that knows how to bring to an end the problems of everyone. Nobody can dictate to Him, and He can use anyone to bring solution to your problem. That is why the Scripture says “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.” (Proverbs 3:5-6). But one thing I admired the Syrian captain for was that he did not take lightly the advice of their maid to visit the man of God in Israel. We should always be expectant any time we pray and also believe that God can respond to our request in any way He deems fit. When ever devil rears his ugly head to hinder us from receiving our miracle, the LORD will send help from above to direct us on the right path.

As this year is rolling away, every “but” in your life will be rolled out of the way, and you will receive a new life that glorifies your God in Jesus name.Amen. Please continue to pray for deliverance for anyone that you know that are in bondage. The great I AM is still on the throne performing wonders and answers prayers. Our prayers shall be answered in Jesus Name. Amen. Year 2019 will be a glorious year for all of us in Jesus Name, Amen,
