Psalm 148:7-14,, Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps; Fire, and hail, snow, and vapors, storming wind fulfilling his word. Mountains, and all hills, fruitful trees, and all cedars; Beasts, and all cattle, creeping things, and flying fowl. Kings of the earth, and all people, princes, and all judges of the earth; Both young men, and maidens, old men and children . Let them praise the name of the LORD, for his name alone is excellent, his glory is above the earth and the heaven.

Today, in the United States of America, is declared “Thanksgiving Day”, that many people gather together as a family, or as friends to appreciate the goodness of God upon their lives. This is the only holiday that does not attach any religious connotation to it. Whether you are Christian, Muslim, Bhudist, or Atheist, you have something to be grateful for. I have no idea what an Atheist will be grateful for since their knowledge of God is  shallow, but what I know is that if they do not want to confess it, they owe their breath to someone. Since Atheist do not believe in God, I wonder whether they have power to keep themselves alive for ever. Well,l with all other religion, everyone can think deeply of all the blessings they have received apart from their being alive to witness this day. While we human beings are praising God for WHO He is, our Maker, a Merciful God, a long-suffering God, our Provider, our Mighty Healer, our Redeemer (and the list is endless), we can read in the Scripture above that everything God made are asked to praise God. The dragons, the seas, the oceans, fire, hail, snow, vapors, storming wind, mountains, and all hills, fruitful trees, all cedars, beasts and all cattle, creeping things, and flying fowl, are commanded to praise the LORD. You might think that all these creatures mentioned cannot speak like we do, how will they praise the LORD then? What the bible revealed to us is that God communicates with all his creatures in his own way which we human beings do not understand. Let us go to the bible to have insight into this.

The gospel of Mark recorded a situation where our Lord Jesus was asleep in the boat, and there was a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was full. The disciples woke him and say unto him, “Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, , Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. The disciples feared exceedingly and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obeyed him? (Mark 4:37-41). Also remember at his command, both Red sea, river Jordan gave way for the children of Israel to pass through, and they returned back to their original position at his command again. The gospel of Matthew recorded another situation that goes thus, Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered. And when he saw a fig tree in the way,he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward, for ever. And immediately the fig tree withered away (Matthew 21:18-19). We can see from these examples that God is in control of everything he created. He speaks to them and every one of them obey him. He also meets them at the point of their needs. Therefore everything he created are for his pleasure and they are supposed to show forth his praises.

We human beings that are created in his image with his breath in us should give glory, honor and adoration to the Almighty God for endowing us with so much wisdom that the whole world has become a global village. From one end of the world to the other we can talk with ourselves and now we can even see ourselves while we talk to each other. All the advancement that we have are wisdom from God and it is for our enjoyment and comfort. So we human beings need to appreciate God, for the great work that he is doing among us, rain, sun and moon responding to his command, making food available to us, 99% of the medication we use are from the medicinal trees given to us. The synthetic ones were by his wisdom. Our physicians are given so much knowledge that they are able to apply wisdom to treating or managing different situations, There are many replacements done in this generation that were not possible before. So let us praise God in every way we can not only today but everyday of our lives because of his love for humanity and if you are a Christian, you will have many other reasons to praise him always, because he redeems us from destruction by forgiving us all our sins, and has provided us with assurance of being with him for eternity. Let everything that has breath PRAISE THE LORD. Happy thanksgiving children of God, I wish you many of this day in Jesus Name, Amen.
