2 Corinthians 10:3-6…For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God. and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ, And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

I strongly believe that many Christians do not have the knowledge of God adequately to submit unto Him all the problems of our lives. We do not know how much he wants to carry that load from us and take care of the situation. We tend to react naturally anytime we are offended. We forget many times that we are not equipped or authorized to fight our battles ourselves. The cause of the problem facing many of us is beyond our knowledge. We wonder why a dear friend reacts rudely to us without a reason. May be you just ask a simple question, and instead of answering in a friendly way he snaps at you as if you were fighting before. There are so many underlying facts that make a friendly person suddenly become unfriendly. Devil might have polluted his mind against you prior to your asking that question. His thoughts might have been on something else that are more important than your question. Since it is only God who knows our thoughts which lead to our actions, we would be in a better state if we could surrender everything to God to handle for us.

In the school of Lies, there are many departments in which Devil has gotten a lot of awards, and only God’s truth can demolish all these departments. He puts evil thoughts into one’s mind, and these thoughts are all the time contrary to the word of God. He does this so that you can start to doubt God. And anyone that doubt God can not receive from God, so when you don’t get what you have asked for, he puts another lie to you that makes you to doubt God’s love, and this cycle continues and you now develop attitude against yourself your God and even people around you. This is how bitterness, envy, selfish desires and all works of flesh starts, The only weapon that have been given to us to fight the Devil is the Word of God. It is the Sword of the Spirit that can quench all the fiery darts of the devil. That is why the Scripture of today says ‘though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. Our adversary the Devil and his fallen angels cannot be seen in the physical, so when we allow our flesh to react, we are causing more problems. If we have been reading the Word of God and hiding them in our hearts, the right word we need to fight that occasion will pop up in our mind and peace will overtake us. The Word will demolish those negative thoughts (strong holds). Our mind is a battlefield and so much goes on there. The only thing we can do to prepare ourselves as a soldier of Christ is to renew our mind daily with the Word of God. When we do this, we are bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ, and we will be able to overcome all the wars that devil brings.

This is the time to sharpen our weapon through daily reading of the Word of God and through Christian literature and the daily wisdom of God. We share experiences that can help us to be strong in our faith and not stumble into any pit again. When we are in total compliance (Obedience ) to the things of God, then God will fight our battle for us and we will hold our peace. God does not use physical weapon to fight. Do you remember the association of three nations with many foot soldiers against Jehoshaphat, and the Lord turned these enemies against themselves and they destroyed themselves with their own weapon?(2 Chronicles 20). Do you remember the gallow dug for Mordecai hy Haman, and the Lord turned it around and it was Haman that was hanged on the gallow made by him? (Esther 6).  All we need to do is to be obedient to Christ, and our thoughts to be purified by the word of God. Do not harbor bitterness, unforgiveness, envy, hatred, jealousy, and all other works of flesh. Let the love of God be rooted in you, and shower this love on everyone, and our God that knows our thoughts will revenge every wrong done against us. We should not react immediately to any negative attitude  toward us whether from a wife, husband, children, sisters, brothers, family members, friends, coworkers, or church members, because devil might be the one behind every of those scenes, and the plan is to continue to make us sin so that he can hold us in captivity. But we know the truth now, and all his tricks (lies), we should be as gentle as dove and develop more patience so that God can shine more light into the situation and the matter will be resolved amicably. If the person has allowed himself to be possessed by the devil, and is not willing to turn around, then God will exercise his own judgment upon him. Let us continue to do good, there is reward for whatever we do, whether good or bad.

Our weapons are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down every imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience WHEN YOUR OWN OBEDIENCE IS FULFILLED. May the Lord bless us as we stay true to his word, Amen.
