Romans 15:4.. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Truly the scriptures have given some of us that know how to rely on the word of God something to look forward to because the stories of the Bible are not fiction but are about a race that God brought to himself through whom the whole world should get to know God. Their story show the character of God from being a merciful and gracious God to being a God that will pay you according to your sins. As the people emerged and grew in the knowledge of God, their sins were not hidden from mankind , they were all written down and their various warnings before eventually sending them out of their land. All that transpired between them and God were written for our learning so that we can apply our hearts to wisdom. The part of the scriptures that I have grown to love is the way the MERCY of God were displayed all through the scriptures from the beginning of creation till today. Adam and Eve were given instruction in the garden of Eden not to eat a certain fruit in the garden and after they disobeyed , the LORD still clothed their nakedness by killing animal and using their skin to cover them. Despite the fact that God sent them out of the garden, He still followed them with His watchful eyes and blessed them with children and opened their inner mind to see the necessity to call upon the name of the Lord, that is to worship Him.  We learnt through various episodes.written that our God is a long-suffering God that always wait patiently for His people to come to Him. Even when He punishes, He does so out of love so that we can turn back to Him.

Therefore the word written for us were written so that we can apply the wisdom therein to ourselves, learn from the mistakes the people before have made and do not fall into the same trap. The scriptures also gave us hope to handle our own situations when we read of difficult and worst scenarios coming to a successful end.  A typical example was the suffering of Job, and his latter end was better than the beginning thereof, because the LORD turned everything around for good for Him. Abraham who was the father of Faith, waited patiently for many years before receiving Isaac born to him by 90 year old Sarah. A man that was sick for 38 years because of sin was healed by Jesus at the pool of Bethesda. These are just few examples that I wanted us to reflect on and know that with patience we can wait for our own notable miracle because God has not forgotten any of us. Please bring your burden to the feet of our Lord Jesus, and He will take care of them for you.  As you do this and read more of the word of God, you will be endowed with more wisdom, knowledge and understanding to put your trust and faith in our only SOURCE of joy, comfort, and hope, and that is our Lord Jesus.. Remain blessed.
