Isaiah 59:1-5…Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened that it cannot save, neither his ear heavy that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity, your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness . No one calls for justice, nor does any plead for truth, they trust in vanity (empty words), and speak lies, they conceive mischief (evil) and bring forth iniquity..
The scripture of today is making it known to us that God is still in the business of saving His people. He has not changed and He is ready to answer us whenever we call upon Him. His words are forever settled in heaven and they are still very powerful and active and are the only weapon that devil can not fight and have no power over. During the time our Lord Jesus ministered to the sick, and those possessed with the devil, the Bible recorded that every one that came to him with whatever problem they brought went home healed. They all received their healing through faith in Him. A good example was the woman with issue of blood that had the faith of touching the hem of Jesus’s garment that she would be made whole, and that was exactly what happened. The Centurion that asked Jesus to speak the word of healing to his servant and that there was no need for him to physically come to his house and Jesus was amazed at the level of his faith and decreed the healing and immediately the servant that was sick in the house received healing.
Why are we not witnessing the same level of healing these days despite the fact that the number of churches and the knowledge of Christ have increased drastically? Those of us who have given our lives to Christ are supposed to be armed with this Sword of the Spirit and used it to wage war against the flesh so that the word of God can work through us . Unfortunately we are still allowing flesh to take upper hand in our lives and because of this the effect of our prayers are not adequately felt in the lives of people or in our community, or nation as a whole. Our sins have caused separation between us and God, and unless we do something about it, we will not effectively see changes in our situations. Those who take guns and kill people mercilessly are doing so because they are under the influence of evil spirits. They are demon possessed, because Satan is in the business of killing, stealing and destroying people. Remember what he did to Job in one single day. All those things that are not supposed to be found with us are still very common among us such as lying, backbiting, envy, jealousy, hatred, bitterness, malice, covetousness, selfish ambition and the like. These are the things that split homes, marriages, and bring forth disobedient children. Children now do what they like and are influenced negatively by their peers. Many parents are on drugs and alcohol and the influence of these cause more problems in the society. The bible says if we can repent and ask for forgiveness, He will forgive us because His hand is not shortened neither is His ear heavy that He cannot hear us. He is waiting for us to come to Him so that He can cleanse us and make us alive in Him again. He wants us to concentrate on His word which is the medium that he uses to transform His people, and then watch him immobilize the power of the wicked ones among us. Let us make a change in our lives and our situations by turning to God and asking Him to help us turn our lives around for good. When we do this, He will heal our land, and raise up god-fearing children that will influence other children positively so that peace can reign in our homes, our cites and our nations. God bless you all.
Prayer..Lord forgive us all our trespasses and cleanse us with your precious blood and rekindle your fire in us.
