Proverbs 24:11-12….If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain. If thou sayest , Behold we knew it not, doth not he that ponder the heart consider it? and he that keep thy soul, doth not he know it? and  shall not he render to every man according to his works?

The scripture of today is advising us not to have a nonchalant attitude concerning what is happening all over the world. As a matter of fact this is a time to have a remorseful heart and be sorrowful about the uncertainty of safety of lives all over the world. We need to be more prayerful and ask for mercy for God to help us put a stop to all these killings. There is so much animosity among brethren, family members, colleagues, and even associates. This is the time that we can seek the LORD’s face on what we need to do to bring the community that we live in. We need to intensify our evangelism outreach and those we know around us that are going through some difficulties, this is the time to be closer to them and pray with them. If we notice that their moods have changed, we need to put them into prayers for God to reveal to us what to do or for God to intervene to solve their problem. So many homes are going through some challenges, it may be a problem between married couples, or between their children. If we engage in praying for our communities, and families and children, God will be happy with us because we are standing in the gap for them. When we are involved in intercessory prayers we are drawing the hands of God down to saving as many as possible including those who have suicidal mind thinking they are not worth anything, whereas they are loved dearly by their Maker. The love of God should be shed abroad in our hearts so that we can share in our LORD’s  burden. The Lord does not want the sinners to perish but to come to repentance. The Bible says there is so much joy in heaven over one sinner that repents, than over 99 that do not need repentance.

Therefore we cannot claim ignorance of what is going on around us by not doing anything about it. If we think that whatever is happening does not concern us, we are not having the same heartbeat as Jesus who died for the sins he did not commit. The Bible says, “He who knew no sin was made sin for us, and this is why this verse is very specific about doing something to save some lives. Now that the coming of our Savior is very near, we should make every effort to intervene in situations when we can, intercede in prayers at all times. Remember that God examines our hearts and motives, and it is by His grace that we are still kept safe no matter what is going on around us. Also what we do cannot go unrewarded.

Galatians 6:7-10 reads, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season, we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith” So we have been saved to serve, and we should do everything in our power to be hands and feet for Jesus. As for me, I am still looking forward to serving him in a greater dimension, wherever He needs me. We will not only be hearers of His word but also the doers of His Word in Jesus name, Amen.

Prayer….LORD give us your burden, and the grace to carry it through.
