1 Kings 17: 1-….And Elijah the Tishbite who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, …As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

Here is a Prophet of God, Elijah, declaring the word of God to the king of Israel, saying there shall not be dew nor rain for these years but according to my word, and it was so for three and half years, there was no dew nor rain. Elijah spoke the word of God and the Lord performed it. Isaiah said in chapter 44:26..”Thus saith the LORD thy Redeemer, and He that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things….that confirms the word of His servant, and performs the counsel of his messengers…” The word that Elijah spoke was performed by the LORD. Then at the end of the three and half years, Elijah came to Ahab to declare rain again .1 Kings 18:1 says, And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the third year, saying , Go, shew thyself unto Ahab, and I will send rain upon the earth. This messenger of God stood before the LORD to hear Him speak.

In the second Kings, we read about a terrible famine that made two women to eat their son one day while the second day, the other woman hid her son, and the matter was brought to the king who declared war on Elisha the prophet of God.  ” And while he yet talked with the elders of Israel,  behold the messengers from the king came down unto him, and he said, Behold this evil is of the LORD, what should I wait for the LORD any longer? Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD, Thus saith the LORD, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria. Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he (Elisha) said, Behold thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shall not eat thereof.” ( 2 kings 6:25-7:1-2), The Bible recorded in chapter 7 how it happened and concluded thus ” And it came to pass as the man of God had spoken to the king saying, Two measures of barley for a shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a shekel shall be to morrow about this time in the gate of Samaria,…And so it fell out to him (the lord) for the people trode upon him in the gate and he died.

These examples and many more confirmed that the Lord uses his servants to declare his word and God does the performance. He makes things happen and all we have to do is to boldly declare His word. The criteria of those who declares His word can be found in the book of Psalms (15:1) that says, “LORD who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbor, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbors…” These two examples and many that were not mentioned in my write up and even many more of his servants of today, that were used in the same magnitude lived a life of separation unto the LORD. Daniel lived a life of total consecration (set apart) unto the LORD, stood before Him and hear him speak to him while revealing deep secrets of things about the kingdom and even unto the end of the age. Once Daniel determined in his heart not to defile himself with things of the world, the Lord helped him to remain steadfast to the end.

We can still bring ourselves before the LORD and ask for total cleansing with His blood and with His Word, and then be determined in our heart to start walking uprightly, working righteousness, speaking the truth and guarding our heart with the Word of God, so that the word we speak will be guided by the Holy Spirit, and the power to decree the word of God will be released upon us and performance of the word will follow. This was what the Apostles did that made the work of God easy for them. They were determined not to allow the cares of the world to affect the work Christ gave to them. They were filled with so much power that shadow of Peter was performing healing of sicknesses while handkerchief of Paul wrought miracles among the believers. Some false prophets of today mimicked this handkerchief but did not have so much effect like the time of the Apostles. Let us remember that the LORD is still on the throne, He is still able to perform whatever we ask or think or declare in the name of our Lord Jesus, as long as we align ourselves to His Will. Please join me in prayers to wage war on the things that we do, that do not bring any glory to Him because without holiness, no man shall see the LORD. It is well with us all. Amen.

Prayer.. Lord help me to separate myself unto You so that my life can bring glory unto You in Jesus Name, Amen.
