Joshua 1:5-6..There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee, I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.. Be strong and of a good courage, for unto this people shall thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I swear unto their fathers to give them.

This message was from the LORD to Joshua, the son of Nun, that took over the leadership from Moses. The LORD was encouraging him to be strong and be of good courage, and that he would succeed in this assignment that has been given to him. The LORD reminded him about how He was with Moses, and all the miracles that He did while Moses was with them. If He did not fail Moses, He was not going to fail him too. So he should be rest assured that as He was with Moses, He would be with him. Also, no enemy would defeat him because throughout the time of Moses, no enemy was able to stand before them. From king Pharaoh of Egypt, to all the first born sons of the Egyptians and the chariots of Pharaoh, all of them perished before the children of Israel, As they traveled from one city to the other, the same victory was given to them because it was the LORD that was fighting their battle for them. With all that Joshua had witnessed, there was no doubt in his mind that God would not fail him as He had promised.

Brothers and sisters the same promise is being given to you today which is the third day of a new month, that He, that was faithful to keep you from January 2018 till date, will be with you throughout this month and beyond in the mighty name of Jesus. He kept you safe from every form of accident, the witches and the wizards of your household did not have power over you, no emergency of any kind had befallen you since, you are still breathing the abundant fresh breathe of God, God says, “be strong and be of good courage that no man would be able to stand before you all the days of your life. because I will be with you and I will not forsake you”. God’s promises are “Yea and Amen” , what He said to Joshua was kept throughout the journey, until they broke God’s law. This happened after the victorious  conquer of Jericho. They were so confident that Ai a smaller city than Jericho would be a run down so they should send a handful of their army to fight them. Unfortunately the people of Ai pursued them and killed about 36 of their soldiers, so they had to turn back and reported to Joshua. Of course this devastated him and therefore he went to meet the LORD to seek His face in this natter, The LORD revealed to him that Israel had sinned and that was why their enemy pursued them. The man that sinned and caused the problem was Achan , he took the accursed thing and he together with his family were stoned to death. After this there was a smooth sail in their journey until they reached  the promised land.

God has not changed in his dealings with mankind. We are sure that He will not fail us or forsake us, but we should also keep our own side of the covenant, and that is, to obey all his commandments and statutes. As long as we fear Him, obey Him, and trust Him, He will always fight our battle for us, and we shall experience victory in every area of our lives. God also advised Joshua to spend quality time with the book of the law, and that he should meditate on it day and night, doing this, he will get the strength he needs to be able to obey God’s commandments, then he would have good success in this assignment(Joshua 1:8). Let us also yield to the same advice from the LORD as we are looking forward to rounding up year 2018 and beginning new things in the new year (2019) by the grace of God, the book of the law (the Word of God-Bible) should be our priority to read, and meditate on at all times, so that we can have good success in all that we do and be blameless and spotless children of God. It shall be well with us in Jesus name, Amen.

Prayer..LORD lift me up to the level where your word will be on my lips at all times, so that I might be strengthened to obey all your laws and statutes in Jesus name, Amen.
