Exodus 14:13-14…And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day; for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

The children of Israel are God’s people and in many ways he proved to them and to their enemies that they are his. They were enslaved by the Egyptians for so many years, and when they cried to the LORD, he remembered his covenant with Abraham, and sent Moses to lead them out of the land of Egypt. Because of the hardness of Pharaoh’s heart, the Lord had to perform series of miracles (10 plagues) in the land of Egypt to shew to Pharaoh his mighty power to save, and to let people (the whole world) know that “He is God”. After their departure from Egypt, they encountered some challenges, even though “the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud to lead them the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light .” These God’s people were not left alone in the hand of Moses, the presence of the LORD was with them day and night. This goes to show that the journey that we embark upon is not without difficulties, but we need to know that God’s promise to us all is that He will never leave us nor forsake us. As long as we recognize this, that we are in the hands of the ONE who owns the whole world, we need not fear because he has plan for everyone.

When the children of Israel arrived at the Red Sea, there was no way forward, and behind them was the Egyptian army that pursued them. This created fear in them and apparently they had forgotten that they were being led by the LORD himself. Though they cried unto the LORD but they started to complain to Moses that it would have been better for them to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness. Then Moses told them that they should not be afraid of the Egyptians and that the LORD will fight the battle for them. He instructed them to stand still and see what the LORD would do to save them. The LORD proved himself by opening the Red Sea for them to travel on dry ground, while the  Egyptian army that pursued them into the sea, got drowned in the Red Sea. The LORD made good of his promise to fight their battle for them. This was a public demonstration of his power to save in any situation. He showered his mercy on the children of Israel by opening the way where there is no way to take them through. No human being would have thought that God could take the children of Israel through that route, dry ground in the sea. He says that we should be still and know that he is in control. The earth belongs to Him and everything in it. He commanded the wind to blow over the sea and it did, and a way was made and the ground immediately became dry. What a mighty God we have. He says in Jeremiah 32:27, “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh, Is there any thing too hard for me?”

Whatever the challenges you are facing, believe that God is able to do an unusual thing (miracle) to bring you out of the problem. You can not predict the way he would take, but certainly, he would take you through. Just stand still or be still and know that he is God. All that we have been reading in the Scripture  were supposed to increase our confidence that God is always with us and that He answers prayers. In Isaiah 43:2 -5, He says ” When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the LORD your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior, I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place, Since you were precious in My sight, you have been honored,, And I have loved you, Therefore I will give men for you, and people for your life. Fear not, for I am with you.”

My appeal to you is that you should stay connected to God if you want the promise above to materialize in your life. He loves you very much and He will keep His own part of the bargain, he will fight your battle and put all your enemies to shame, and you will not have to fight in any battle and you will enjoy the salvation of the LORD all the days of your life, In fact you will become TERROR to your enemies because they will not know how you are doing it. Proverbs 16:7 says :If a man’s ways please the LORD, He will make even his enemies to be at peace with him.” I pray you will be still and know that God of Israel is your God and that He owns your life and will never disappoint you Amen.

Prayer…LORD teach me to be STILL, and wait for you because I  know you will bring me out and people, even my enemies will rejoice with me and your name will be glorified in Jesus Name, Amen,
