Isaiah 53:5…But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed.

When I consider the love of God toward humankind, I want to say with exclamation the words in Psalm 8 written by David (through the inspiration of God), “What is man that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands, thou hast put all things under his feet. All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field, the fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth.” (Psalm 8:4-9). David considered the mightiness of God, and all his creations, the sky, the seas, the sun, the moon, the stars, and he wondered why did he place man in such a position of authority. Since God brought everything into existence, God was happy with every one except man. The Bible says it repented him that he made man.(Genesis 6) The depth of his LOVE for mankind made Him to begin again with Noah after He sent flood to destroy all living things. His LOVE that rules over judgment made him to promise never to destroy the world with flood again. He made a new covenant with man to redeem us through himself.
This new covenant was described in Isaiah 53 with details of what he went through to save mankind. The sin of the whole world was placed upon him, then he was punished for that sin by crucifixion; wounded, bruised, whipped, and nailed. Romans 5:8 says, “But God commendeth His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Jesus, in John 15:13 says “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for His friends. There is no other love that can be compared with this love of standing in our place to receive the punishment that we deserved. Through this punishment that he received, so many benefits became ours by simply accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. The scripture above says, “by His stripes we are healed” Revelation 12:11 says “We overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb” John 10:10 says ” He came so that we might have life and have it more abundantly.”

With all the LOVE that God showed to mankind, why do we not reciprocate the love by obeying his commandments and ordinances? Why do we always behave as if all that he went through did not matter? We know how painful it is when we show love to someone, and what we receive in return is hatred or bitterness. When such thing happens to us, we end that relationship and go our separate ways, and even when occasion demands our coming together, we still do not have enough trust to continue in that relationship. God showed love to us and we should show love to others so that he can be happy with us.
Many families are fragmented today because they keep on accusing each other of wrongdoing (NO LOVE). Many people have been killed because of bitterness against one another. A worker that was wronged on duty would be looking for avenue to take revenge, and the next thing you will hear is that he has massacred many people at work. The news that we hear everyday is very disturbing and why do we harbor so much evil and do not allow the love of God to flow through us? If Jesus loves us so much that He died for us, why can’t we show love to other people by forgiving them their sins even if they don’t ask for it? After all it was while we were yet sinners that Christ died for us, In John 15:12 , Jesus says “This is my commandment, “That ye love one another, as I have loved you.” Are we not all sinners? The Bible says there is no one that is righteous, no not one. Romans 3:23 says”All have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. The examples I cited above are all between “Christians” who claim they are born again, and many such occurrences are between leaders of the gospel too.
Christ followers should retrace their steps and walk as Jesus walked. What He went through for us was too gruesome and we must not allow it to be in vain. Our behavior have sent many people out of churches, and these people do not believe any one anymore because of what they see being practiced. When you don’t obey God’s commandment by loving your brother, then you are opening door to the devil to strike. We should be like Stephen who asked God to forgive those who stoned him to death (Acts 7:60) just like Jesus asked Father to forgive those that crucified Him.
In conclusion, let us follow the advice in 1 John 2:5-6 that says, “But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did (NIV).

Prayer..Lord Jesus help me to live a life of love, forgiveness, and peace with every one around me because you have already done this for me so I need grace to do it for others.
