Psalm 102:13..Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion, for the time to favor her, yea,the set time is come.
Unfortunately as I was to begin today’s write up on the scripture above, the news of the sudden death of a man that has been struggling back home, and just moved to the States with his family in search of green pasture reached me. This is a very sad news that we are pleading to God to PLEASE NOT allow to happen again. A middle aged man with family just trying to settle down. It is unimaginable the suffering this family had gone through at home and also what they have passed through trying to settle down, and then this happened. This is one of many cases that people are going through even across the whole world. There are so much hardship, suffering, sorrow, affliction, different types of sickness, and so many other uncertainties that people are passing through.
The writer of this psalm was also going through some problems and was pouring his heart to God and when he got to verse 13, he says, “Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion”. Our cry to God today is the same as the Psalmist cry. We are asking for his mercy upon the whole world. We need Him to forgive us all our sins and blot them out of his remembrance because what we are witnessing everyday is the result of our sins. We need to cry out to God in PRAYER more than before for Him to come to our rescue. He is the ONLY ONE that can make His mercy to rule over His judgment. Psalm 103:8 says, “The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. Let us all plead for His mercy over our families, friends, nations, and the world at large. Let us ask that he would create a new heart in us that will seek God and his righteousness so that we can live a blameless life. The Psalmist ask us to cry to God for Him to look down from heaven and behold the earth, to hear the groaning of the prisoner, and to loose those that are appointed to death. All this we ask for His mercy, favor and truth endure from generation to generation and it is TIME for Him to arise and bring a fresh fire upon this generation to REVIVE US spirit, soul and body.
Prayer..Arise O LORD, and have MERCY upon us. Deliver us from sin, sickness and every form of bondage, and make us to rejoice in your salvation again in Jesus Name, Amen.
