Jeremiah 29:11..For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
From Genesis to Revelation, the love of God was manifested to human race. The LORD has been pursuing His creation right from the garden of Eden because he has a purpose for creating man and this purpose must be fulfilled. When Adam and Eve disobeyed and ate the forbidden fruit, He came to the garden as usual to look out for them, and even covered their nakedness with coats of skin (Genesis 3:21). There he had plan to restore the broken relationship through the seed of the woman (3:15). When they started to raise family, he met with the children Cain and Abel, and rebuked Cain for killing his brother Abel. The pursuit continues by calling Abraham out to make him a great nation through whom the whole world will be blessed.
The love of God flows through this Abraham lineage (called Israel) so much that when they sinned, he did not wipe them out but still extended hand of fellowship to them by sending different prophets to warn them of the consequences of not following his commandments. Eventually their punishment at the time of Jeremiah the prophet, was that some of them were taken in captivity by Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, while some remained in their land. Jeremiah was sent to those in captivity to tell them that though they have sinned by not keeping to his rules which led them to be exiled in Babylon, yet his thoughts toward them are good, and not evil. They were not there to be destroyed, but that he has a better plan for them so that they will be able to fulfill his purpose for them.
He promised them that he will bring them back to their land when the number of years they were supposed to be there has been fulfilled (70 years). Then he told them that they should relax in Babylon, build houses, plant gardens, eat the fruit of them, take wives for your sons and daughters, have grandchildren, that you may increase and not diminish. What a plan of God to shower his love upon his people in captivity. He watched over them and blessed them even in captivity.
Do you know that the same plan he has for the children of Israel in captivity is the same plan he has for us today? I might not know your situation today, may be you are going through some form of captivity, bondage, yoke of failure, disappointment, sickness, retrogression of any kind, God has plan for you. He wants you to know that he thinks of you all the time because of his love for you. This is the reason why he sent his Son to the world that the world might be saved through him (John 3:16) The Bible says while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:21). He died so that we can live a victorious life free from any form of bondage. Isaiah 61:1 says he came to open prison doors to those who are bound and also to set the captives free. His future plan for us is to have an unbroken relationship with him forever, so that at the end of life here, we can enjoy eternal life with him in Heaven.
If you have not given your life to Christ through whom you can be saved, please do so today, because he has plan for you, he does not want you to perish in Hell fire, but wants you to be with him in Heaven where he abodes. John 14:3 says that “I am going to prepare a place for you, and I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there you may be also.”
If you have given your life to Christ and you are going through, please commit your case to him for there is no mountain he cannot subdue, and no valley he cannot fill. He makes a way where there is no way and he will certainly bring you out and you will glorify his Name. Amen.
Prayer: Lord deliver me from (mention your situation) and prove yourself as the “I AM that I AM”, the Almighty God.
