Lamentation 3:22-23..It is of the LORD’S MERCIES that we are not consumed, because his compassion fails not. They are new every morning, great is thy faithfulness.
I can relate to the mercies of God which have kept the world still existing despite the atrocities that human race are committing daily. The mercies of God truly rules over judgment. As we are advancing in knowledge and technology which God gave to us freely, so also we are using the same tools to deceive and destroy ourselves.
How do we explain that a phone call could cause the death of a person that received the call after speaking few sentences to that caller from abroad? The wife witnessed the phone call, came down to listen to what that person had to say only to find the husband dead with the phone in his hand. What about face book engagement between a man and a woman, that eventually led to the murder of the supposedly wife to be. There was another incident where a student went to visit her fiance over the weekend, and was beheaded and wrapped up waiting for seven days after which the corpse would turn to money machine. We go to work on a daily basis, not knowing who has been harboring evil and planning to commit the next murder.
Surely it is of the LORD’s MERCIES that we are not consumed as we go about our normal daily business. He has not allowed us to fall into the trap of our enemies or deliver us to their will. Devil’s plan on a daily basis is to steal, and to kill, and to destroy (John 10:10 a). Where there is PEACE, he wants to bring uproar, sorrow, pain, and weeping. But Jesus said in the same verse, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10 b).
We need to thank God on a daily basis for His mercies that are NEW every morning, that is, his protection over us and our family is his daily business. You are sure that as you go out in peace, you will come back in peace and joy, because his compassion does not fail. As long as you belong to His anointed ones, He has issued a DECREE, that devil should not touch or do you any harm, and that is why there is no weapon that is formed against you that can ever prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
My question is “Do you belong to his camp? Are you among those that dwell under His shadow, and are covered by His feathers?” (Psalm 91). The LORD knows who are His, and He is committed to them. He has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. Jesus says in John 10:11 “I am the good shepherd, the good shepherd gives his life for his sheep.” The suffering and the death on the cross is the price he paid so that we might have abundant life here on earth and in the life to come. Remember His faithfulness is great, therefore we must continue to live a life that is pleasing unto Him so that we can receive the blessing in Isaiah 4:6, that says “and there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain” for us that dwell in mount Zion. So shall it be for us in Jesus name, Amen
Prayer: Let us pray that his goodness and mercies will follow us all the days of our lives in Jesus Name, Amen.
