2 Peter 3:9..The LORD is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness, but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
The scripture of today expresses the unconditional love of God towards mankind. In the Book of Romans we are told that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), and that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our LORD (Romans 6:23). The magnitude of the sins that we witness in our world today is alarming and
heartbreaking. If God were to pass judgment on evildoers as soon as the sins are committed, the world would have ceased to exist. But because of His love for mankind, He waits patiently for each and everyone of us to come to repentance so that we would not perish. He does not want anyone to go to hell that was prepared for Satan and his angels, but rather He wants us to spend eternity with Him in heaven. Of course He has not forgotten His promise, He is only waiting for you and me to reconsider our ways, turn fromour evil ways, and come back to Him. He is warning us every day through His word, and through many people that had the revelations of what hell looks like, that an end will come one day, therefore we should not take His GRACE for granted. The fact that we don’t know when that day will come, it is important for you to consider each day as the last, use it wisely, forgive every one that has offended you, show love to everyone and thank Him for giving you the chance to make it right that day.
Those of us who are believers in Jesus Christ should make sure that our actions and conversations are in line with His Word. We are supposed to shine as LIGHT that beacon other people to Jesus Christ, with whom we will live eternally. There are some people whose life will be affected by us when they see Christ in us, therefore our Father is waiting for such souls to be impacted through us. He does not want any to perish, but that ALL should come to repentance. Let us focus on what we have to do to win more
souls to Christ. Everyday is an opportunity to do this because the clock is ticking, and we do not know whether the DAY that He promised to come is today or tomorrow.
If you are reading this devotional this day, and you have not given your life to Christ, please endeavor to accept the GIFT of God which is eternal life through Jesus Christ TODAY. It does not matter how long His long-suffering is, it will expire ONE DAY, and THAT DAY nobody knows. The LORD will keep us till the end in Jesus Name AMEN.
Prayer.. Lord make me a useful vessel through whom you will bring more souls into your kingdom. AMEN.
