Isaiah 26: 3-4..Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever; for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength
Since the disobedience of man in the garden of Eden, man has not known peace or rather peace has eluded mankind, and we have gone from sorrow to sorrow, and from pain to pain, and the world has been going through cycles of uncertainties and turmoil since then.
Nations wage war against themselves to show man power or superiority over each another. The men of Israel fought series of war for them to settle in their promised land. After this they engaged in constant battle with their enemies (neighbors).
King David did not enjoy much PEACE during his regime because of the sin that he committed against the LORD.
For one to have PERFECT PEACE, the mind must be focused on Him alone for everything. Before the sin entered David’s life he had good fellowship with God and things worked perfectly well in his favor. After his sin with Bathsheba, and the murder of her husband (Uriah), David suffered from one calamity to the other within his own home. Though he was granted pardon for the sin he committed, but God took away PEACE from his domain and replaced it with sword.
Dear brothers and sisters, for us to enjoy the perfect peace from God, we must run away from all evil. Even if we desire to have what our neighbor has, we should commit it to prayer, and allow the will of God to be done. When we covet what belongs to our neighbors (wife, husband, material goods and so on), we are opening door for Satan to attack us. We should be content with what we have and be rest assured that He will meet us at the point of our needs. While waiting in prayer for those needs, let us ask for His strength to keep our mind focused on Him so that we don’t fall into sin in the process. For he gives strength to the weary and PERFECT PEACE shall be given to us to wait until our change comes in Jesus Name, AMEN.
Prayer: LORD keep me in perfect peace as I continue to focus on you. Please meet me at the point of my needs and I will give you all the glory.
