2 Chronicle 20:20..And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa, and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established, believe his prophets , so shall ye prosper.
With all that are going on around us today and the fact that the signs of Jesus return are seen everywhere, this scripture is more appropriate for us now than then. The children of Moab, and the children of Ammon and the children of Mount Seir came together against Jehoshaphat to battle. Three nations against one. The Bible says Jehoshaphat feared but set himself to seek the LORD. He declared a fast throughout all Judah while all of them gathered together to ask help of the LORD. The Spirit of the LORD spoke through one of them, that the LORD says Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God’s.
Because he believed in the LORD, he followed the direction of the LORD and he then encouraged all the inhabitants that the battle is already won by telling them to believe in the LORD. For the victory to be manifested, the people must believe what the LORD told them through the prophet. To demonstrate their belief, he appointed singers to start to worship the LORD as they went out before the army. And when they began to sing and to praise God, the LORD set ambushments against them and they were all smitten.
Just like Jehoshaphat sought the LORD in time of trouble, we should believe the LORD and seek his face in prayers more than before. This is the time to cry unto God for deliverance from the shackles of the enemy. From the leaders to the followers, there is no soundness in anyone, there are wounds all over, people mourn for loss of loved ones, people are suffering from different kinds of diseases, there is no safety in schools, at homes or market places. As much as we are trying to pursue PEACE, PEACE is not found anywhere. That is why I believe that seeking the LORD with all our hearts will point us in the right direction.
We should not be afraid about the chaotic situation that befall us everyday, but let us seek God, and our PRAYERS will move the hand of God and his will will be done. We seek God by humbling ourselves with a fast. Fasting helps us to look inward and examine our pitfalls. Our hearts become purified in the process, and we can then bring our petition before the LORD. Our prayers will make devil’s kingdom to be depopulated and souls won for Christ. Gathering ourselves together will foster unity among us, which in turn will bring us closer to God. Believing in the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross, will bring JOY into our hearts and we will be praising God more than before while we raise altar of prayer to God. Our Victory shall be made manifest soon in Jesus Name.
Prayer..Lord unite all believers together with a strong cord of love that cannot be broken, and fight our battle for us.
